Jacks over sevens, that’s how I went out on Saturday, September 12 at the SCV Youth Project Poker Tournament.  Guests came with high hopes and large wallets for the SCV Youth Project’s Annual Hold ‘em Not Hassle ‘em Poker Tournament.  Silent auction items lined the Oaks Grille at TPC while participants enjoyed a delicious taco/nacho bar and chocolate candy on the tables.
The tournament was dealt by West L.A. Poker and in true form, dealers rotated tables, followed standard playing rules and worked in 20 minute sessions.  And what could make for a more exciting night, the Ohio State versus USC game played the entire time causing as many ooh’s and aah’s as the poker tables did.
As the tables dwindled down and the stakes got higher, the room got a bit more quiet.  And as the night finished up, the big winer for the night was The SCV Youth Project!
