The City of Santa Clarita’s Aquatic Center recently hosted the 2007 Southern Pacific Master Association Short Course Yards Finals Swim Meet, featuring the Santa Clarita Masters Swim Club (SCMC) and during it the team swam to their most successful finish earning them a number three overall ranking with a score of 760.
The SCMC team members include Jeff Beck, Dan Bennett, Bethann Brody, Davey Burnett, Correna Davidson, Cheri Ellington, Albert Giacomazzi, Lenny Grim, Christine Hall, Patrick Hartman, Serena Lovingood, Cindy Marnoch, Bob McMeekin, Carolynne Mendell, Todd Morse, Lance O’Keefe, Brian Roney, Dorab Sethna, Bob Shepler, Lisa Valenti, Kelly Valentine, Kerry Valentine and Mike Velasquez. A total of 29 teams from Southern California competed in the three-day event. Teams were represented from Mission Viejo, Long Beach, San Diego, Santa Maria and Las Vegas.
Adults 18 years of age and over who are interested in a serious workout along with the optional opportunity to compete in regional U.S. Masters Swim Meets can enjoy coached swim workouts at the Sports Complex Aquatic Center. Practices are designed for both novice and experienced swimmers.
