Recently I wrote about the importance of eating a healthy breakfast and how it determines your energy level, mood, and brainpower. There were some great points in there but I know a lot of you were thinking, okay now I know exactly why breakfast is important but where do I find the time for this? So here you go; a simple, yet effective solution.
Routine — Routines are comfortable, familiar and reassuring to family members. Helping them to know what to expect and what is expected. A morning routine may sound boring or old fashioned but don’t underestimate the power of implementing one. So, jot down all the things you need to get done in the morning. Though you already know what needs to get done, writing it down helps you focus and alleviates some stress by freeing up a little space in your memory. Then give each task a time allotment and stick to it (make sure to schedule in breakfast).

Plan Ahead — By getting things done the night before, you’ll alleviate even more stress and ensure that you’ll have time for…breakfast! If a healthy smoothie is what you like then put the ingredients in your blender and set it in the fridge until the morning. Then just hit blend and voila — breakfast is ready. You can also scramble or hard boil a dozen eggs and place them in a sealed container in the fridge. Reheat the scrambled eggs or grab some hard-boiled eggs to go. While you’re at it, you can even prepare for tomorrows dinner by using your crockpot.

Positive Attitude — What does a positive attitude have to do with breakfast? Include these four tips (below) into your morning routine and you’ll see what a difference they make. In turn, you’ll have less stress which leads to more time (for breakfast), which makes you healthier, and leads to more fantastic days —it’s a snowball effect! Try these:
• Smile
• Stretch – To the ceiling then touch your toes
• Listen to music and sing – I like Enya
• Speak encouraging words – Try “I love you” and a hug
