Do you suffer an unstable partial denture?  Or any of the following: Loose teeth not enough to support the denture; unaesthetic clasps; discomfort of underlying edentulous ridge; accelerated tooth loss; and traumatic forces.  Do you not wear your dentures daily or often?  You are not alone.  There are solutions.
The multitude of benefits patients derive from implant-based therapy have been well documented for more than 20 years.  Implant-based modalities have expended the options for replacing teeth and retention function in both partial and fully edentulous situations.

Implant-retained removable partial denture (clasps- free partial denture) can be use for replacement of multiple teeth missing.  Between the ages of 40 and 70, patients suffer from chewing problems with old-style dentures and will benefit from this I-R RPDs design.  Combining implants with dentures has the following advantages: fewer number of implants needed, which saves money; less surgery; and the patient feels good about the stability of the implant retention denture.  Esthetically there are no metal clasps shown in the mouth, and they can restore the front teeth bone loss with a non-surgical approach. With one or a few implants providing anchorage, the stability of denture can be greatly increased. Patients love to wear them more.  They like the feeling of controlled retention other than the hope that they will just “get used to it.”

The procedure requires a planning visit, implant placement visits and partial denture fabrication visits.  Usually the last visit will be one to three anchor devises (most often used is “locator” from Zest Company) added to partial denture.  This procedure will add an immediate retention to the partial denture.

We present this option to partial denture patients and conventional fixed implant restoration patients.  This treatment option offers biological, biomechanical, social and psychological benefits to their mouth and chewing system.
