ImageA smile swept over Shelley Hann’s face as she inducted seven members of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Guild to their new positions on the group’s board during a recent elegant installation ceremony and dinner at the Tournament Players Club in Valencia.

“We had such a fabulous year with 24 debutantes in the Guild’s Silver Rose Debutante Program and we raised $70,000 to benefit Laboratory Services at Henry Mayo,” said Hann during the two-hour installation event.  “I look forward to another wonderful year with Virginia Hart as our Guild president.”

The new Guild board members include President, Virginia Hart; Co-Vice Presidents of Membership, Phyllis Grekin and Tamara Levine; Treasurer, Debra Weyand; Corresponding Secretary, Pam Ingram; Recording Secretary, Mary McCormick and Parliamentarian, Lois Bauccio.

“We have a great group of women on the Guild’s board and I am looking forward to working with them this year to raise $80,000 because that has never been done,” said Hart.

The 31-member Guild is among the HMNMH Foundation’s five philanthropic arms. The Guild raises funds primarily for Laboratory Services at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

Its primary fund-raisers include a professionally-produced fall fashion show, luncheon and boutique; a Serendipity Auction in which handmade items are auctioned to raise money for the hospital and the Silver Rose Debutante Program.

Community members who would like to learn more about the Guild, are invited to contact the Health Foundation at 661-253-8082.
