Kisho Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki Continues a Standard of Superior Service
For those whom have lived in Santa Clarita since what feels like the beginning, Kisho Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki has been a familiar name in excellent food. For those new to our lovely City – welcome to the next level of Japanese cuisine.
For many years numerous Japanese eateries have come and gone. Kisho Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki has not only continued to serve Santa Clarita with the utmost quality but the chef’s are on the cutting edge of cuisine. Each item is prepared with the highest quality ingredients and passion. Passion for their craft and level of service, which is something you can’t put a price on.
Located in the heart of Valencia, Kisho Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki is an eatery you can count on for your absolute favorites as well as new and exciting dishes. My experience began with a festive favorite, The Halloween Roll. Loaded with spicy mixed shrimp salad and shrimp tempura then topped with tuna, avocado, spicy mixed shrimp salad, eel sauce, negi, sesame and spicy sauce this roll packed a punch. Packed with Umami, each bite was sweet and savory with a mild spice that builds and just before you reach for your glass the tuna on top cools your mouth. This roll is an excellent open, middle or finish to any meal.
As an avid Albacore lover I was so pleased to receive the next dish – Black-Pepper Albacore Carpaccio. This dish is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys food, period! The Albacore melted in my mouth just like butter. Pure perfection – Words can’t say enough. This dish was elegant and balanced like a fine wine. Light, yet flavorful the blackened pepper crust was balanced perfectly by the sweet onions on top.
The next dish in my fabulous dining experience became an overnight house favorite. Edamame is a staple in most Japanese cuisine, but at Kisho it comes with flair. House favorite, the Garlic Edamame is not overpowering like some may assume. The beans are steamed then sautéed with garlic and soy. They come to the table piping hot and packed with flavor. The sliced garlic garnish adds the perfect crunch to compliment the smooth texture of the steamed beans.
The Chef’s Albacore Roll, another house favorite, is served with shrimp tempura, mixed crab salad, avocado and cucumber inside and toped with Albacore, fried onion, spicy garlic ponzu and sesame. This roll has great flavor, a slow spice that keeps the lips warm bite after bite and a cool finish with the extremely tasteful yet light garlic ponzu sauce.
My meal was finished with the most beautiful of treats – The Poki Salad. Delicately placed in a martini glass, this cocktail salad included wakame seaweed mixed with tuna and albacore then tossed in a light sauce with sesame – a perfect finish to a delicious meal.
