On Tuesday, October 27, the American Association of University Women introduced the first of four programs in their “Women Activating Change” Speaker Series. Judge Graciela Freixes – “A Superior Woman” shared her life story from her freedom flight from Havana Cuba to her current role and appointment to the Superior Court of California in Santa Clarita by Governor Schwarzenegger. Over 50 members and guests enjoyed her inspirational story at a dinner meeting at The Residence Inn on the Old Road.
Two additional AAUW Programs in the Speaker Series are: Tuesday, January 26, “Changing the Way We View Autism” with SCV resident, award-winning author and advocate Emily Iland and Saturday, February 27, “International Women Humanitarians from Nicaragua to Nepal” with Deborah Bruns and Jamie Hackbarth, who will discuss their compassionate endeavors.
