Hart High Show Choir will host a wonderful evening of musical entertainment on Friday, January 8 at 7p.m. when the men’s a cappella group, The Spizzwinks? from Yale University will perform at Show Choir’s second annual alumni concert.  The Spizzwinks? performances include songs from all musical styles and eras: jazz standards, traditional spirituals, Motown, folk songs, rock and even pop music.  The a cappella group owes their repertoire to an esteemed 95-year-old tradition of first-rate arranging by talented Spizzwinks?  No Spizzwinks? performance would be complete without a generous dose of their unique brand of tongue-in-cheek humor and engaging choreography.  The Spizzwinks? perform around 100 concerts all over the world each year.  During their 2009 to 2010 World Tour, the group will perform in Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Paraguay, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, and throughout the United States.  Among the members of this exclusive musical group is Alec Torres, a 2009 graduate of Hart High School and a Show Choir alumnus.  Not only will The Spizzwinks? be entertaining the lucky audience members during the evening, but many of  Show Choir’s alumni will be gracing the Hart High stage for a trip down memory lane.  There will be vocal performances from Broadway to pop by some very talented former students many of whom are still singing and dancing.  This promises to be a very exciting and entertaining evening and Show Choir hopes to make this alumni concert a yearly tradition.

Just two weeks later, Show Choir will perform their annual Cabaret Pops Concert on January 21 and 22.  This show is conceived, directed, choreographed, and produced entirely by the students.  As in years past, this concert is one of the most anticipated shows of the year and will include performances by all four Show Choir groups: Sweethearts, Hart ‘N Soul, Hartbreakers, and Sound Vibrations.  In addition, many smaller group acts and solo performances will keep the audience entertained with their talented singing and dancing and an added dose of humor.  Tickets will be available at the door for both concerts.
