Resolve to “Staycation In Your Own Backyard” in 2010. No need to pack the car, make hotel reservations and travel hours from home to find something different, exciting, educational and especially fun to do. It’s only a short 20-minute drive from the Santa Clarita Valley to Fillmore, home of The Movie Trains. From January through September and in November every weekend Fillmore & Western Railway Co.’s vintage train departs the downtown Central Park station bound for one of the other small towns that comprise the Heritage Valley. Nearly every month there is a special event or occasion being celebrated aboard the train. February’s special event is Rails To Romance on Saturday night, February 13, as we entertain diners with “The Love Train” Murder Mystery play while they feast on a sumptuous meal. The month of March is always a celebration of the history and heritage of Railroading with the annual RailFest. In 2010 the RailFest theme is Trains For All Ages.
The last two weekends in April, will see the return of our most popular Engine of all, Thomas The Tank Engine™.
