The Holiday Coin Toss Approaches
As the holidays approach, the stress of last minute gift shopping isn’t the real issue for many separated and/or divorced parents—this is the season of who gets what time with the kids. But there are ways to avoid the last minute stress of these situations.
Quantum Healing Spiritual Hypnosis
I recently underwent a Quantum Healing Spiritual Hypnosis session with Medium Seraphina. What an amazing, life changing experience! Medium Seraphina was very welcoming, and demonstrated care and understanding during the entire session. Contrary to popular belief, you are in control during the whole session. Personally, I felt relaxed and peaceful during the whole experience.

Do You Have Questions About Your Infant/Toddler’s Development?
It is not unusual for families to have questions or concerns about their child’s development. You may be wondering: Why isn’t my son sitting up? Why isn’t my daughter walking? Is my child’s hearing/vision normal? It is important to keep in mind that all children develop differently and at their own pace. However, when you have questions about your child’s development there is a local program, funded by the state of California, that can help you.
Changes are coming to Medi-Cal Eligibility for Long Term Care Assistance
Congress enacted the Deficit Reduction Act on February 8, 2006. The State of California Senate enacted statutes (Senate Bill 483) in September of 2008 stating any provisions of the Deficit Reduction Act would become effective when the California Department of Health Services creates implementing regulations.
Some Guidelines for Foster and Adoption Families
Raising children in foster care or in pre adoption homes produces questions for families. Inner Circle Foster Care and Adoption Services provide families with support and on-going training. Since all children want to feel “normal,” it is important for these families to have the straight answers on how to handle some uncomfortable situations. To “normalize” the child and family’s adjustment, is to treat a child as you would any other child with love, acceptance, and honesty.
Divorce Mediation – A Personal Journey
“Never mind searching for who you are. Search for the person you aspire to be.” – Robert Brault
This is one person’s story: A dozen years ago I became divorced. Rather than hire lawyers, my ex-husband and I chose mediation. My experience was so different from friends and family who had chosen to battle in the courtroom. I sometimes wonder whether mediation made my journey lighter, or our approach to divorce was more suited to mediation - probably both. These are the valuable lessons I learned.
November is National Adoption Month! Arlene and Jake’s Adoption Story
Arlene’s adoption journey was sparked after watching the heartwarming television special, “A Home for the Holidays,” which is a one-hour primetime CBS television special that has aired in late December since 1999. The goal of this special is to create public awareness about the joys of adoption and draw attention to the 100,000 children in public foster care who are waiting to be adopted. Triage Entertainment produces the special in association with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Children’s Action Network and Goldsmith Entertainment.
Ask the Voicecat – November 2012
It’s so cool that I get letters every month asking about the voiceover business. Here’s one from a reader of The Magazine of Santa Clarita who asks about V-O demos.
Q: How come, on the websites of agencies, you will see some demos that say 1:34, and some of them are listed as over a minute long. I was just curious about that. I thought most V-O demos had to be 60-seconds long, and no longer. –Tina W., Saugus, Ca
Tips for Preventing Falls
As we all know, seniors have a tremendous fear of falling. This fear is justified, knowing that falls can lead to more serious illnesses than the injury from the fall itself. For example, while in the hospital for a fractured hip, an elderly person may begin to show signs of infection, or even pneumonia.
Medicare Open Enrollment
As the fall season approaches, it is not only time to prepare for the upcoming holidays and family traditions, it is also that important time of the year to review your current Medicare healthcare and prescription drug plans. Medicare is health insurance for Americans age 65 and older and for those with certain disabilities. The Open Enrollment period to make changes to your plan began on October 15 and will run until December 7. Medicare insurance coverage choices are available through Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
Health Screenings You Need as a Senior
As men and women alike grow older, there are other health screenings that become important for seniors to have. Some of these tests are well known but some may not be. This is a compiled list of screenings as well as immunizations that seniors need in order to maintain good health with age based on recommendations from the National Institute of Aging and the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force.
Determining Whether You Qualify for Bankruptcy
The current bankruptcy forms include a portion that determines the debtor’s Current Monthly Income (CMI), also referred to as the Means Test. After the form is completed, the resulting number gives an indication for which bankruptcy chapter, if any, the debtor is more likely to qualify. Since there are many variations on how people receive income, and the types of income they receive, the Means Test is open to interpretation in some areas, and not all courts or judges agree on some of the more complex “income” issues.
Willful Failure to Disclose May Trigger “Disentitlement Doctrine”
The “disentitlement doctrine” prevents a party from seeking assistance from the court while that party is in “an attitude of contempt to legal orders and processes of the courts.” This doctrine was triggered recently when the Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal from an order that John pay $200,000 towards his wife’s attorney fees and costs.
When Isn’t a Living Trust Enough?
John and Jane Grantor (not their real names) had four adult sons. The Grantors wanted to leave their house and most of their residuary estate to son Jimmie, who lived with them. They filled in the blanks of a do-it-yourself living trust software package and signed the Trust Agreement.
Bringing Clarity to My Present Life by Jordana Grado
Having the opportunity to change my life path through past life regression has been unimaginable... I was guided to meet Tina and Seraphina at CQH. I say guided as I now have a profound understanding as to why.
Why I called them and reached out to them for healing? Why I took the chance in Tina and Seraphina to guide me through a life path regression?
I was excited the day of my appointment as I, like a child, anticipated answers as to why I was terribly ill, why the headaches, why the suffering, why I wasn’t emotionally fulfilled, why all the problems? The biggest question I had was, what exactly is my life path?
City of Santa Clarita 2012 Public Opinion Poll Residents Happy with City Services, Financial Management and Parks
The City of Santa Clarita conducted its biennial telephone public opinion poll in early August, in an effort to learn how residents feel about the City’s job performance and to determine areas where improvement is needed.
The poll sample included 400 adults that make up a cross section of Santa Clarita residents including representation of women and men, with children and without, of varying age groups who live in Canyon Country (30 percent), Newhall (19 percent), Saugus (20 percent) and Valencia (30 percent).
