Are you planning your wedding this year? Then I bet you are excited and overwhelmed with details. There are lists galore! Add to the top of the list your wedding day makeup. The hours will fly by swiftly on your special day and before you know it the dancing is over and the cake and guests are gone. But you and your husband will have the pictures and video or DVD to treasure for the rest of your lives. Unfortunately, I’ve heard too many brides say that they don’t like their pictures because they looked too made up or too washed out.
This is definitely the time to call in the professionals. An experienced makeup artist knows exactly how much and what colors of makeup to use to make you look perfect both at the altar and in your wedding album and video. Also, it’s your day and you deserve to be pampered. Don’t wait until the last minute to choose a makeup artist, call a few salons and ask some questions. For example, are they experienced in bridal makeup, do they choose colors with your individual needs in mind, and do they have pictures of brides they have serviced? Another tip, while it may seem less expensive and more convenient to have the same person do both your hair and makeup, it is rare to find one person who really specializes in both. They may be great at hair and just okay at makeup or vise versa. So, you’re better off finding two separate people: one who specializes in hair and one who specializes in makeup. Do a trial run for your makeup and hair to make sure you will be happy. It’s fun to do this for a bridal shower, engagement photo sitting or “last single girl” party with your best girl friends. If you are thinking of wearing lashes on your wedding day, please think about having lash extensions and have them applied ahead of time, they last up to 2 months. That way you will know what they look like on you and can enjoy them on your honeymoon as well.
One more tip, if you are going somewhere warm for your honeymoon and are considering a bikini wax for the first time, try to have a bikini wax done at least once before the big day. Start a couple of months before your wedding and do it once a month so you know how your skin will react and that way you will also get the maximum benefits. If you are worried about pain regarding your waxing, try a product called PRE-KINI, it really works and we carry it for less than 10 dollars. I wish you a beautiful wedding and a lifetime of happiness.
