Cheri Fleming has a busy schedule, no doubt between owning the Valencia Acura car dealership and devoting countless hours to various community service obligations.  She gives to organizations like the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation where she is a director and past chairwoman and the Soroptimist International organization, as a leader, as well.

She also contributes time to the local Child and Family Center Foundation and is active with the American Cancer Society and it’s Los Angeles Regional Unit Council.

For many people, the challenge of juggling all of these hats, running a business and sharing a life with a husband, might be too much.  Not for Fleming.
For her efforts, California Senator George Runner this year nominated her as a top community leader.

“It was an amazing honor.  It was the best thing that has ever happened to me,” said Fleming, in an interview with The Magazine of Santa Clarita, upon her return from Sacramento where she was honored as part of the annual presentation that celebrates women.

“It exceeded anything I thought would ever happen to me,” says Fleming.

She is impressed with the tremendous opportunities available to volunteer and serve the community and the number of people who contribute their time to make the SCV a great place to live.

“You do the work because you want to,” said Fleming, “This award was just like the cherry on the top of the ice cream Sunday.”
