March 12 marked the Santa Clarita kickoff for Tony Strickland’s bid for a seat in the California Senate. Tony is running on the Republican ticket for the seat of Senator Tom McClintock, who is being termed out. The event was held at Mimi’s Café with about 30 local dignitaries in attendance. Among them were representatives from the offices of US Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon, CA Senator George Runner and CA Assemblyman Cameron Smyth. Several members from local school boards and water boards and a city council member also attended to kickoff.
Paul Strickland is the chairman of the campaign for Santa Clarita. As far as Tony and Paul know, they are not relatives, but kid about being cousins.
