We’re the lucky ones.  We’re the generation that grew up with fluorides, gum treatments and high dental health expectations.  Not that long ago, popular wisdom held that you held onto your teeth for a while, then began having the problems extracted, and finally at about 60 or so, settled into dentures.  Today we know that doesn’t have to be.
More American adults retain their teeth now than at any other time in history.  If you’ve recently celebrated a milestone birthday with all or most of your teeth intact — congratulations!

But don’t tempt fate: good dental hygiene habits plus regular visits to our office are a must to keep what you’ve got.  The good news is, should you ever need one or more replacement teeth, you won’t necessarily have to settle for a removable partial or bridge.  We have a new, high-tech solution up our sleeve — dental implants.

Implant devices are actually anchored in the jawbone like natural teeth.  Then one or more tooth restorations are attached to the anchors.  Result: stability, lifelike appearance and the ability to eat anything with confidence.

If you or someone you know and love could benefit from dental implants, give our office a call.  We’d be happy to explain details of the procedure.

Mark A. Poitras, DDS, practices preventative, cosmetic, implant and sedation dentistry at 28212 Kelly Johnson Parkway #220, Valencia, and can be reached at 661-775-8822.  You may also visit 19310 Avenue of the Oaks in Santa Clarita or call 661-251-0700.
