Delicious food.  Great prices.  Outstanding service.  Put it together and you’ve got The Basil Thai Fusion, one of Santa Clarita’s gems.
We started the afternoon with a delectable appetizer – beautifully plated Pot Stickers.  The steamed chicken dumplings topped with a sweet soy sauce and garlic was not only appealing to the eyes, but also satisfying to the taste buds.  The hint of spice blended well with the sweet soy sauce.  For only $6.95 this light and tasty dish came with six pot stickers, and proved to be the perfect appetizer to accompany any meal.
Following our meal, we were served one of The Basil Thai Fusions’ popular Dinner Combination Specials.  It was truly remarkable.  We received a green salad, that was fresh and crispy, topped with a light and sweet house dressing made of soy sauce and mustard.  Along with the salad came a BBQ Chicken Quarter Leg that was absolutely tasty from start to finish!  Steamed rice and fresh and tasty fruits accompanied the meal along with Cashew Nut Chicken (one of the many selections on the menu to choose from).  The Cashew Nut Chicken was incredibly delightful.  Mixed with cashew, green onions, red bell peppers and onions, you couldn’t have asked for a better blend of foods.  What was even more outrageous, was the price – all this for only $8.95!

Next, owners Mary and Annie brought out one of The Basil specialties – Grilled Salmon with Panang Curry Sauce.  Not only was it beautiful to look at, there was no shortage of flavor in this dish.  It’s original and it’s authentic.  Served with steamed vegetables, the salmon had a hint of spice and was cooked to perfection.  Fuse it with the tasty red panang curry sauce, and you’ve got the perfect combination.  This tasty dish is only $14.95.

To end our wonderful dining experience, a Spicy Beef Salad on Romaine was brought out.  My eyes widened as this uniquely plated dish screamed flavor!  Delicious beef smothered in red onions, mint leaves, cilantro and rice powder was perfectly served on whole leaves of romaine lettuce.  At first, we were unsure how to tackle eating this eye pleasing meal, but Mary simply stated, “Take a leaf and bite!”  And so we did.  Much like a taco, we took the leaf of romaine and all the scrumptious fillings.  The flavor was absolutely perfect!  The beef was seasoned to perfection.  The charbroiled top sirloin sliced steak mixed with chili and limejuice and the coolness from the romaine lettuce makes your mouth water and leaves you wanting more.  For only $9.95 you will receive four tasty lettuce wraps – it’s the perfect meal and it’s healthy!

What makes The Basil Thai Fusion so unique and so good?  For starters, everything is fresh.  “I personally hand pick the USDA meats,” stated Mary, “with the customers health in mind.  Everything here is made from scratch.  Our foods aren’t processed.  We make every effort to create an exquisite taste for each customer.  We want our customers to like what they see, enjoy what they eat, knowing it’s healthy for them, too.”

With ten years of experience in Thai, Japanese and American Cuisine, Annie and Mary bring much experience to their restaurant, and are pleased to celebrate Basil Thai’s one year of business this month.
