In 1936, Life Magazine estimated that approximately six percent of the US population had at least one tattoo. By 1997, U.S News and World Report stated that tattooing was the United States sixth fastest growing retail business.
National Geographic reported in the year 2000 that 15 percent or nearly 40 million Americans between the ages of 18 to 50 years old were sporting tattoos. Since the above numbers were released the growth of tattoos has grown at an astonishing rate, but along with that the tattoo removal is growing just as quickly if not faster. Think about how many people are walking around with tattoos that they got on a whim or didn’t think through. They may have been intoxicated, are no longer with their significant other or they were wanting matching tattoos with their best friend that they are no longer friends with… the list of reasons go on and on.
