Let’s start the New Year off with a fresh curly cut that allows your curls to breath new life. As a Curly girl Specialist first I start off by examining the curl and determining the comfort length for the client. After we decide if you want to keep your curls or waves we come up with a plan for the hair cut. Step 1. Let’s be honest… how much time do you spend on your curly curl? Most people think that curly hair is a wash and wear hair, but that’s not true! You still need to hydrate the curls and style.

Things to take into consideration. Is the hair dry? Is it flat? Are the ends split? This allows me to be able to create your own personalized hair cut to fit your curly hair lifestyle.
Step 2. What is the goal? Is it to keep it long, add volume or to remove weight? Is the goal to re-shape or a new style? Cutting curly hair is not about what you take off, but it’s what you leave behind to create a style. In most cases there is a reason why the hair is not behaving. Usually hair needs a fresh cut or reshape. Depending on your curl pattern and texture we can determine where to cut, and what we cut.
Someone that has thinner, skinny hair needs more layers to remove the weight. Thicker hair needs to keep its weight and fewer layers to keep it from becoming big and bulky, we recommend more controlling products to tame this curl.
Since not all curls are created equal the final desired look and style is when we can recommend the correct products for your hair.
Step 3. Cleanse with Deva Curl No poo or low poo. They are a lather, sulfate free, conditioning shampoo. It doesn’t strip the hair of its natural oils and leaves the hair moisturized. Next: Hydrate! Hydrate curly hair with Deva Curl Condition One. It is a conditioner that leaves the hair feeling like butter. You can leave 25 percent in your hair as a leave-in.
Lastly, Style! Deva Curl Products are recommended to be applied to wet/damp hair. For maximum volume turn your head upside down and use your fingers to massage products to the scalp. For thick defined curls apply cream or gel for definition.
