On September 1, Beyond Harmony Med Spa will be offering Acupuncture by Kathleen Kenneally, L.Ac. who has been awarded “Best Acupuncturist” in the SCV for the past seven years. Her unique style of patient care combines Traditional Chinese medicine with other aspects of her training to include chronic and acute pain management, allergies, stress relief, infertility/women’s issues and emotional clearing/balancing.
The practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine evolved from the ancient Taoist philosophy that views a person as an energy system in which body and mind are unified, each influencing and balancing the other. Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points of higher electrical conductivity on the human body. These points are located on pathways through which the body’s energy flows.
The goal of each treatment is to activate the body’s own self-healing mechanism-releasing endorphins, neurotransmitters, enzymes, hormones muscle relaxation and increased blood flow. She also can provide nutritional counseling along with medicinal herbs.
Kathleen’s objective as a practitioner is to facilitate health and wellbeing by treating the whole person versus their individual symptoms, much as Beyond Harmony uses the mind-body theory in all services. She also is incorporating the Healing Light Resource Center within the spa facility. Those services will include hypnotherapy, neurofeedback, guided imagery, hypnofertility and hypnobirthing, to name a few.
The resource center conducts classes and workshops in a number of disciplines to enhance the individual’s quality of life. Along with the addition of these treatments, we will also be expanding our retail area to include gifts, books, CD’s and cards.
