Forehead Lift/Brow Lift
A forehead lift, brow lift is a method that is used to reduce the creases on the forehead. This procedure is popular among people who have high forehead or sagging brows and who have frown lines and want to look younger than their age. As we age the lines in the forehead deepen, leading to an aged appearance. Additionally, the eyebrows commonly drop below the upper edge of the eye socket, crowding the upper eyelid and causing a furrowed and sometimes angry look in the brows. These two factors contribute to a tired and worn look.
The procedure is performed by raising the forehead skin and restoring the brow tissue to its original location. There are two types of forehead/ brow lifts that Dr. Lahijani performs.
• Coronal lift is performed by making an incision in the hairline, then the forehead skin is lifted up over the scalp. The excess skin is removed and the tissues are sewn back in place. The incision is very well hidden.
• Endoscopic lift is a minimally invasive form of the brow lift. Three or four incisions are made behind the hairline, and through these incisions the forehead and brow are lifted up and back, eliminating creases in the forehead. This utilizes a small camera called an endoscope to allow precise dissection in the forehead. The scalp is then secured in its new location until it fully heals.
