Rubber Ducky Festival Makes a Splash
On September 28, Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers held its annual Rubber Ducky Festival. Approximately 3,000 rubber ducks raced down a manmade waterway in Bridgeport Park toward great prizes!
The SDFHC gave away a grand prize of $2,500 to David Sher. Second Place went to Ed Monaghan, and Third Place went to Martha Simmonds. Several raffle prizes were given out, ranging from Disneyland Report passes to local gift certificates for Mountasia and Ekata.
The SDFHC was established in 1980 and was named after longtime Val Verde resident and minister Reverend Samuel Dixon. The mission of SDFHC is to help enhance wellness by providing quality primary health care services to under-insured and uninsured residents.
Health services are available at: Val Verde Health Center (661-257-4008); Canyon Country Health Center (661-424-1220); and Newhall Health Center (661-291-1777).
