Ask Cathy – January 2016
Happy New Year! So many of you have asked is there anything you can do to get your skin looking better. Weather it is large pores, wrinkles, sagging skin, acne scars, age spots, rosacea, scarring or stretchmarks the treatment that has been quickly gaining popularity due to its proven results is called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)-(aka Derma Rolling or Skin Needling or Remodeling).
This Skin Needling has been clinically proven to be SAFER, MORE effective and LESS expensive than treatments like Laser Resurfacing, Fraxil, CO2, IPL’s and deep chemical peels- (without the risks those involve) and the downtime may be none or up to just a few hours, with no post procedure pain! So what exactly is this new exciting better option? Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) – (aka Derma Rolling or Skin Needling or Remodeling) is a non-surgical, FDA approved Collagen Induction Skin Needling Treatment that uses a sterile roller with very fine micro-needles that we gently pass over the area to create microscopic channels into the deeper layer of the skin. This results in the release of growth factors to promote scarless healing and the production of collagen and elastin. The result is plumper, smoother, thicker, tighter and more even toned skin! The micro–channels also aid in infusing skin care serums (ie: Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid, or Retinols) for greater penetration. Clinical studies have proven that serum absorption is increased by as much as 1,000 times when applied with Collagen Induction Therapy.
The procedure takes from ten minutes to an hour, depending on the area to be treated. Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is great for all skin types. Can be used on all areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, abdomen and thighs. Generally a minimum of three treatments are required to achieve the optimum rejuvenation of an area treatments are recommended three to six weeks apart. Thereafter, maintenance can be two times per year. Results are natural, no foreign substances are injected. Skin becomes thicker. Safe for people with darker skin thus no fear of hyperpigmentation (dark spots). Skin does not become sensitive to the sun. CIT can be done on clients with thin skin and even safe for individuals who have had laser resurfacing. See our specials in our ad on pricing.
As you can tell we are really excited about this treatment and those of you who know me, know I like results without risk, so that is why I am so thrilled with this option! Our clients are loving the results. Looking forward to taking care of all your skin care needs and pampering you soon.
