Successful Holiday Sales at Closet on Main
Closet on Main has had a fantastic holiday season and we thank all of our shoppers and donors for their support. We recently held a successful pre-Black Friday Sale and had a record-breaking day of sales during the “Sip n Shop” Tree Lighting event in Old Town Newhall.
We are an all-volunteer organization and we simply couldn’t achieve our success without our dedicated staff, so this month we would like to recognize Terry Schwarz who is a long-time volunteer at the Closet on Main.
Terry had worked at Margo’s shop as a Fashion Coordinator for 33 years and when the shop closed in 2010, she joined Margo Hudson and others to establish the Closet for Single Mothers Outreach. Fashion has always been an interest of hers. Before she joined Margo at her SCV shop, Terry had years of experience working at one of the L.A. runway agencies. At Margo’s Terry established close relationships with clients through a unique attention to personal service.
The SMO cause is close to Terry’s heart. Her mother was a single mom and so was her daughter for a period of time. Terry especially enjoys helping customers and she loves the supportive relationships and camaraderie among the staff. With her keen interest in fashions, she’s aware of labels and quality designers and how to put together a fabulous outfit for a special occasion or everyday comfort. She credits Margo with teaching her about display, presentation and helping a woman achieve a “wow” effect.
All the staff is dedicated to making the shopping experience as enjoyable as possible. They like to greet each person who walks in the door. The Closet on Main is clean, well-lit, and clothes are steamed, hung neatly, and sorted by color and size. There are also separate rooms displaying men’s clothes and ladies’ eveningwear.
When she’s not volunteering at the Closet, she says “I love spending as much time as I can with my family and grandchildren.” Terry looks forward to meeting you at the Closet and suggests “it’s the perfect guilt-free shopping experience; all our clothes sales help fund projects for single parents.”
Terry and all the staff look forward to welcoming you soon and to celebrate the New Year and the new fashions in stock. We will be having a one day “New Year, New You” sale where you can save up to 50 percent off all our fashions on Saturday, January 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closet on Main is a classy boutique located in trendy downtown Newhall (22335 Main Street) that sells new and gently used upscale clothing. There are items for every budget with customer service you find at high-end boutiques. Closet on Main holds regular hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
All sale proceeds go to supporting Single Mothers Outreach and the families we serve. SMO families receive free clothing at monthly private events and by volunteering at Closet on Main. For more information about Single Mothers Outreach, please visit www.singlemothersoutreach.org
