Your Tax Preparer Should Provide You More than just tax preparation
It is tax season again! As usual, the deadline for submission of your return is April 15. Taxes are a fact of life we must put up with. And, we might as well face it, tax rates are not going down. The Federal government and California are faced with significant fiscal concerns. They need more money and will continue to pursue ways to get more out of you.
A prime example of how the IRS is taking more money from most of us is ObamaCare. The Affordable Care Act is actually making healthcare less affordable for most of the middle class. Many employers are being hit, and business owners and individuals who cannot afford insurance must pay significant penalties for the privilege of opting out of the program. ObamaCare is indeed another tax.
When we receive new clients and review their previous taxes, we often discover they were paying more taxes than they needed to. Many were not receiving correct advice from their tax preparer, if any at all. A significant percentage who were preparing their taxes themselves prior to becoming a client were missing opportunities to reduce their tax liability. There is no reason you should be in either of these situations.
Chances are you will find yourself in better tax shape if you use a service… one that will provide you more than just tax preparation. Your preparer should also help you strategize how to hold onto more of you money next year and in years to come.
If your preparer has no time to help you with tax planning during tax season, he or she should at least be willing to talk with you after April 15 to discuss your personal situation once, twice or even multiple times, if necessary, at no additional charge. And given the uncertainty of the economy and rising taxes, don’t procrastinate. Get the assistance you need from a tax professional now and flourish!
Through their program EZ2 Thrive, they provide unlimited planning advice free to their clients.
