Jake Kelfer: Elevate Beyond
Passion and motivation are key, not simply to financial success, but to emotional happiness. Seeking both of these ideals, USC grad Jake Kelfer also felt a desire to help others in finding their happiness. An aspiring sports agent and graduate of USC majoring in business administration, Jake Kelfer cites an “extreme passion” for sports as the source of his desires to work closely with athletes and transitionally people in general. From his website and blog, Kelfer shares his journey and his adventures with all who wish to join him on the path he’s set for himself, while propelling those who he feels deserve applause. His current achievements, however, put his literary skills to the test with his recent release “Elevate Beyond.”
During his time in school, Kelfer accumulated a wealth of knowledge via professional and personal connections. In time, his mentor, Professor Tyrone Howard, provided the final push necessary for Jake to merge the information he had with his personality, resulting in “Elevate Beyond.” The book provides advice for the professional world from a man still navigating his way through it, merging the wit and style of one who his learning with the experience and wisdom of those who have learned. With tips on portfolio building, resume composition, networking strategies and even tips on how to “crush” an interview, the book not only aids others but also helps Mr. Kelfer himself, by answering two of his greatest questions: “What do I know, and how can I help people?”
Containing quotes from more than 150 interviews from corporate suits, employees, sports stars and even self-made entrepreneurs.
Overall, the book is less a stern blueprint for success and more a healthy guide to personal and professional elevation. More than a rudimentary self-help book, “Elevate Beyond” seeks to aid those who read it by humanizing and explaining the path to success by breaking each step down to its core values with accessible language and a touch of humor.
Today Kelfer still pursues his goal as a sports agent, already working for the L.A. Lakers in Corporate Partnerships, and hopes to push his book further forward. Kelfer has even said he hopes his work will be required material in some schools. Readers will benefit greatly from Mr. Kelfer’s contribution, and no doubt the path forward will show great success for this enterprising and engaging young man.
