You Can Get Out of Debt Safely and Legally
As a debt relief attorney, I see a lot of people who are at the end of their financial rope with no place to turn for help. Some of them feel paralyzed and hopeless about their situation, unable to move forward and afraid that they might make the wrong decision if they try anything. So they continue to live in fear day after day not knowing what the future holds for them.
If you’ve ever been in debt, you know what I mean. Have you ever received that dreaded nasty collection letter that says you need to pay now or else something really bad is going to happen to you? That could mean that you’re being sued by a creditor or if there’s already been a judgment, that your wages will now be garnished. And then there’s also the bank levy- every bill collector’s sneaky way of freezing your bank account without warning.
The truth is that we are still living in difficult financial times. Over the last several years, I have seen a lot of people lose their homes, savings, retirement plans and everything that they’ve worked hard for in their struggle for financial survival. More and more people are finding it difficult or impossible to pay their credit card bills, mortgage, personal loans, medical bills and all other debts they’ve incurred for living expenses.
Contrary to what some people may think, these people are your everyday, honest, hard-working individuals just like you and me who just want the best for themselves and their families- but for mostly reasons beyond their control, they have found themselves in a very tight financial spot. You may be currently having trouble paying your bills for any number of reasons: unemployment, divorce, a slowdown in your business, etc.
Regardless of the reason for being in the situation you’re in, there are ways you can get out of debt safely and legally (example: filing bankruptcy if that is your only option or maybe negotiating with creditors) but you will never know what your options are available to you until you take the time to find out. Seek the advice of an experienced and knowledgeable bankruptcy lawyer. Don’t lose hope. Instead of constantly worrying, your energy will be better spent finding your best options to get out of debt.
