The Voluma product carries the XC designation indicating that it contains Lidocaine, a local anesthetic that makes these injections virtually painless. It is composed of hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance found in abundance in our own skin and cartilage. No animal products are used during manufacture; therefore we have never seen an allergic reaction. Like all the Juvederm products, Voluma is reversible with an injection of the enzyme hyaluronidase, so results are fool proof in the right hands.
