Introducing: The Canyon Santa Clarita – Another music venue comes to town
The founder of famed music venue group Where Music Meets the Soul is bringing a new dinner and show venue to the Westfield Valencia Town Center. With a hopeful opening date of September 2017, The Canyon Santa Clarita will feature a wide range of performers similar to the lineups seen at other locations – from Pat Benatar to Styx to Lisa Lampanelli or Eddie Money.
With a classic music lounge vibe, the 25,000 to 30,000-square-foot space will fill the vacated Red Robin, as well as take up some of the available adjacent space. Up to about 900 guests will be able to dine at the full-service restaurant or bar before the show, or enjoy comfortable seating throughout the performance. The American bistro-style menu features prime rib, steak, chicken, lasagna and more.
“We ususally encourage guests to arrive by 7 p.m. so they have enough time to enjoy dinner and relax by the time the headliner starts at 9 p.m.,” said Luanne Nast, vice president of marketing and ticketing.
While shows typically play from Thursday through Sunday, a Cali burger restaurant, which is separate from the concert space but still housed in the same building, will be open throughout the week, as well.
Where Music Meets the Soul was founded by Lance Sterling, who has years of experience in the business of music venues. Sterling was one of the original founders of The House of Blues, where he was in charge of development and design, Nast said, and prior to that, he owned The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. The Canyon Santa Clarita joins Sterling’s well-known venues such as The Canyon in Agoura Hills, The Rose in Pasadena, The Saban in Beverly Hills and more.
