SCCS Adds New Campus Pastor, Wiley Kennedy
Santa Clarita School is excited to announce Wiley Kennedy as the new Campus Pastor.
Kennedy will assume the traditional role of the Dean of Men, but will also be focusing on the spiritual health of the school.
“As a ministry of Santa Clarita Baptist Church, SCCS’ mission is to teach minds and train hearts for God,” said Kennedy. “My role at SCCS will be to come alongside the Administrator and Principal and partner with them with a focus on the spiritual health of the staff, teachers, students and families.”
Kennedy will also be working with the many pastors who are represented at SCCS in partnership with the families associated with the school.
“SCCS is committed to God’s word and the outworking of the gospel in the faculty, students and families lives,” said Kennedy. “I will be helping to strengthen discipleship across all areas of the school, from academics to athletics, creative expression and spiritual life so that the school can be the best it can be in the context of the mission of Christ.”
Over the past 26 years, Kennedy has served at Grace Baptist Church. Fourteen of those years he served as an Elder and Pastor on staff, focusing on establishing discipleship relationships and specifically in charge of the Barnabas Project.
“The goal of the Barnabas Project was to take more mature believers and connect them with less mature believers with the purpose of helping them grow in their faith,” said Kennedy. “I’ve now seen second generations of believers helping new believers.”
Kennedy is excited to bring this same passion for discipleship that he had at Grace Baptist Church to the SCCS community. He has already begun working on the 2017-18 school year.
“SCCS has always been committed to providing a rigorous education from a Christian perspective,” said Kennedy. “I am excited to be a part of God’s work and carrying out the great commission!”
SCCS partners with families to produce students who are prepared to make a difference in the world for God. With dual enrollment and Advanced Placement classes, a low student-to-teacher ratio, competitive sports for grades K-12, SCCS students continue to matriculate into the nation’s top universities.
SCCS is now enrolling for the 2017-18 school year. Space is limited and filling fast! For more information call 661-252-7371 or visit www.sccs.cc or www.facebook.com/SantaClaritaChristianSchool.
