The 5th Annual SCV Charity Chili Cook Off Turns Up the Heat
Wolf Creek Brewery was the hottest charity event in town on Wednesday, March 23. Forty chili chefs presented their creations to guests for tasting, as they enjoyed live music, a silent auction, dancing, mechanical bull rides, a photo booth, the Mary White Band, photos with the Wells Fargo stagecoach and the Sweet Beams ice cream truck.
The fifth annual event raised $58,500 for local non-profits Straightening Reins and Spotlight Arts Center.
1st place PEOPLES CHOICE- Channi Kaur – Chicken Masala Chili
2nd place PEOPLE CHOICE- Tamar House – Hot House Chili
3rd place PEOPLES CHOICE- Ben Budhu and Greg Smith – Game of Thrones
1st place JUDGES CHOICE- Scott Ervin – Smokin Hot Here’s the Beef
2nd place JUDGES CHOICE- Ian Griffin – Green Chill Zone
3rd place JUDGES CHOICE- Jeff and Tracey Scott – Blazing Saddles Best Chili
The best decorated booth was awarded to Scott Ervin.
