“Western Stars and Historical Figures” Art Exhibit Now on display at the Newhall library
Residents are invited to view a series of art pieces based on images from the Old West at the “Western Stars and Historical Figures,” art exhibit on display now through August 18, 2017 at the Old Town Newhall Library Community Room. The exhibit features pieces by Los Angeles artist Timothy Doe, a lifelong fan and student of the Old West. The Old Town Newhall Library is located at 24500 Main Street in Newhall.
Western movie stars, outlaws, Indians, cowboys and other icons of the Old West are portrayed in the artist’s realistic and entertaining style. Timothy has studied and experimented with Native American design and beadwork, Japanese landscape design, portrait painting, calligraphy, plein air landscapes, clay sculpture, cartooning, framing and matte and abstract designs, as well as various obscure and little-known techniques and styles.
