Do Eyelash Extensions Ruin your Lashes?
The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Of course, you do need to be sure not to rub your eyes or tug on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lash that’s why we stress the importance of your aftercare once they are applied. You also want to go to a licensed esthetician or certified lash stylist to guarantee the best results and sanitation. All licensed estheticians are required to follow state board guide lines when going to someone that is not following the guide lines, you risk the possibility of infection and improper application. As far as cost is concerned why are some places more expensive than others? Well you get what you pay for. If the lashes are applied according to lash extension standards, it should take the lash artist a minimum of two hours or more for your first set and one hour for your fills if you have at least 40 percent of your lashes remaining. If you have someone only taking 45 minutes to one hour to apply, chances are they are not doing it correctly and you will have clumping and overlapping which will not only damage your natural lashes, they will look unnatural. These places tend to charge 75 to 125 for application and are probably using synthetic lashes verses mink lashes. Again, you should be paying 200 for mink lashes that are applied properly. We use the best of the best at our salon and our lash artist is a licensed esthetician, check out our Instagram @TheBrowSpa for before and after pictures.
