Year End Reflections
As the year comes to a close, I can’t help but reflect on this last year and what life has been like during the past 30 years of business in the Santa Clarita Valley. It all started in Newhall with my first practice where I started implementing a philosophy of giving back. This philosophy has remained consistent as the business has grown and transitioned to where it is today.
This last year has been one of tremendous growth as we purchased Audiology Services of Newhall. We have been expanding by opening of another office in Mission Hills earlier this year and we will be opening another in Northridge at the beginning of next year. With this growth, it has become necessary to increase to four health care providers, two of which have doctorates in audiology. In addition, there will be yet another Audiologist joining the team this coming year.
This success was punctuated by my 30th anniversary party where 375 of my patients and community members came to support me at Bonefish Grill on November 2nd. It is a privilege to see the impact that we have with our patients and in the community. It was overwhelming to see the out pouring of love and support from them.
Our goal is to educate our patients on the importance of hearing and the serious repercussions when they can’t hear. When people struggle to hear they often can feel isolated and alone. By providing the tools to help them communicate and feel connected it gives them the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest. Every day, the providers at Advanced Audiology allow people to participate in the symphony of life.
The opportunity to dramatically improve people’s lives gives me motivation in the morning. A program we participate in every month gives 10% of the hearing aid proceeds to a local non-profit. This coming year Advanced Audiology will be offering patients the opportunity to select a non-profit to support. This means that people are not just purchasing hearing aid but giving back to the community.
As I have been able to reach out to my patient’s, they in turn, can now pay forward into our community. The opportunity to touch this many lives has far exceeded what I could ever have imagined 30 years ago.
