Planting the Seeds for our Future Minds
For the past 42 years under the same owner, Town and Country Farm School has been enriching young minds with a more “hands-on” education. The rural atmosphere helps students experience nature in a very interesting way. Their philosophy is “before a child begins to read and perform other academic tasks, they must first gather and develop concepts from the world around them.” Here at Town and Country Farm School the children are able to discover nature and develop life-long skills in a program that is full of sensory learning. The campus extends over 2.5 acres where students are exposed to many facets of farm life and rural living. From farm animals, fruit orchards, gardens and plenty of open space. Students have a chance to learn about livestock, garden vegetables and various fruits and even swim in the summer time. There are currently seven teachers and over 100 students enrolled in their programs. They offer day classes for children six weeks old to Kindergarten and after school programs for ages up to the sixth grade. Diane Schlander, Director of Town and Country, lovingly remarked; “It’s like going to grandma’s house but with an education. Open enrollment is year-round. Town and Country Farm School has one motto in mind and that is to treat every student as a part of their ever growing family.
