4. What Type of Motor Oil do I Need?
You should use the type of engine oil recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Most new cars require a multiviscosity 5w30 oil for all-round driving. These oils circulate easily, especially in cold weather conditions. For an older vehicle or one that is driven at fast speeds during hot weather, 10w30 is an excellent choice. For the ultimate in performance and high temperature protection, synthetic motor oils are your best option.
5. What Kind of Oil do Auto Service Centers Use?
Keep in mind that there are value engine oil brands and premium brands. Most auto service centers use a value engine oil brand as their house brand. If you want to use a premium brand like Valvoline, you should ask your mechanic for it.
6. How Much Will an Oil Change Cost Me?
An oil change will cost you about $40. This service usually includes checking and topping off other fluids such as brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and power steering fluid. This service may also include checking your tire pressure and the condition of your brakes. If you need an oil change, make an appointment with a certified mechanic. You’ll be glad you did.
