To Microblade or Not to Microblade, that is the Question! Well, the answer is “do your homework”
Who would have thought tribal paint would one day be called permanent makeup? Or better yet, Microblading. Let’s face it, it’s embedding pigment into the skin, which is another form of tattooing.
Microblading started out as “Hair Stroke”, then someone wanted their own name to sell, so they came up with “3D Brows”, “Feather Stroke”, some others, and now “Microblading”. Permanent makeup is ever changing.
Now, you may see on YouTube, various videos showcasing Microblading. From the novice to the experienced. It seems as though everyone has one. Of course, we all want makeup tips from the pretty girl in high school, right? I watched one the other day of a very young girl, performing Microblading on her friend with stuff they bought from the Internet, no gloves, on her mother’s couch… ouch!
It has been said, “the brows make the face”. They shape the seats to your soul, some may say and I say, “do your homework. When selecting a permanent makeup artist look at their portfolio of work, check out their website, look at the licenses. Please make sure they have a blood-born pathogens license. Make sure they use sterile instruments, and wear gloves.
When deciding on whether to choose Microblading or not, think of how you want your brows to look. I tell everyone to get brows they want without makeup. Like when you first get out of bed, or after swimming. You can always add darker color. Ask for a consultation.
Go into it, knowing what you want. Pictures will help. I’m sure you’ll make the best decision. Best wishes to you all…
