Finding My Way Out
“Everyone is in their own world, doing their own things. I’m just trying to find my way out.” — 15-year-old girl from Juvenile Detention Camp
Aren’t we all trying to find our way out of something?
That ‘something’ looks different for each of us but we’re all, for the most part, looking to be in a better situation than our current state… we’re all in “transition”.
Some of us are striving for excellence, wanting more for ourselves & for the people that matter most in our lives.
Some of us are surviving our circumstances, trying to get by, hoping for a better tomorrow.
Many of us are doing a little bit of both.
Whatever the case may be, it helps to know that we have a support system, someone to lean on, somebody in our corner when we’re battling the storms of life… trying to find our “way out”.
None of us are perfect. We all have our stuff.
We can only hope that the people in our lives aren’t so preoccupied with their stuff, that they don’t take the time to meet us right where we are.
Like many of her incarcerated peers, this 15-year-old girl is desperate to be seen, desperate to be understood, and desperate for a way out. Million Little is here to say… We hear you, We see you, & we support you.
Here at Million Little, we work to transform the lives of at-risk children and families through the power of Creativity.
One of the primary facilities we’re able to do that with now on a consistent basis is the local all-girl Detention Camp in Santa Clarita.
You can help us continue to make remarkable changes in the lives of these girls by donating your time, resources, or making a financial contribution of any amount on our donation page at www.MillionLittle.com.
For more information about what we do, how we serve our community and/or how to get involved, please visit our website www.MillionLittle.com or email us at info@millionlittle.com.
