Music to Celebrate Life

 Formed in 2013, Canyon Country based teen band, KiKstart, comprised of twin sisters Kalia Javan and Keeli Javan have come a long way since that school talent show that showcased them as a group, and which landed them their first ever gig as the musical guest in the Opening Ceremony of the 2013 Santa Clarita Valley Relay for Life. Since then, they have had eight to ten shows per year every year, and have used some of those shows to raise funds to help charitable organizations.
On April 21, the girls teamed up with three other bands and did “Four Acts for ACTS, Act 2,” which is a sequel to a fundraising show they did in August of 2017. Their next fundraising efforts will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 called “Music to Celebrate Life.” This show will raise funds for the SCV Pregnancy Center. They will be joined by other talented parishioners from St. Clare of Assisi Church including The Disciples (Sally Javan, Candace Melendrez, Stephanie Brzykcy, Emilio Mendoza, and Noel DeAnda), Couples for Christ Band (Kyle Aclan, Raul Aclan, Rey Diamante, Romy Galang, Marie Hallare, Angel Padlan, Ed Palo, Ben Ong, Ian Ual, and KC Ual), and siblings Adriana & Juan Covarrubias. The show will be held in one of SCV’s favorite local music venues, Vincenzo’s Pizza Newhall, and will start at 5:30 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.). KiKstart is currently working on recording a full-length studio album, which will include thirteen songs, eleven of which are originals. It will also include a revamp of their 2014 single, “Heart Might Break Again.” On July 14, the audience will get to hear some of these songs at “Music to Celebrate Life.”
