Anjolie the Prodigy
Meet Anjolie Galestan, a third grade Trinity Classical Academy student who shines in the classroom at CA Tutoring Academy by being an exceptional teacher to others. She enjoyed spending her summer assisting her teacher, Karen Weil-Morrison, around the classroom. “She is a future teacher and a future entrepreneur,” said Karen. CA Tutoring Academy is an educational institution that provides after school care, tutoring, a summer camp, and other programs as well. Karen sees potential in all children. “She is your average child, but she has a gift.” Anjolie aspires to be a teacher when she grows up. She runs the classroom, helps them organize it, and puts together art projects. One time she even set up and directed a big performance with the other students. “She enjoys being around kids,” said Anjolie’s mom, Lillian proudly. “She likes being in the leadership role.” Lillian describes her daughter as empathetic, funny, and enthusiastic. Her dad Stefan is another big influence on her life, he always encourages her to “Always pursue her dreams, and never give up.” Growing up, Anjolie was very curious and she enjoys Math and Art, but during her free time she enjoys watching YouTube videos according to Lillian. She was on the Internet looking for activities for the students to participate in along with her lesson plan. Yes, a lesson plan. While in the classroom, Anjolie rewards students for their excellent performance. She not only laid out a teaching plan, but she even provided the students with supplies after overhearing a conversation between Karen and her mom about items that were needed for future projects. It is almost as though Anjolie already has her teaching degree! “My favorite subject in school is Math,” she stated. Her favorite food to eat is macaroni and cheese. Anjolie was always involved in extracurricular activities. From ages 3 to 5 years old, she was in ballet. Anjolie has been enrolled in Jiu Jitsu at Honor Roll for 4 years now. Recently, she came in first place at their first competition at the gym and was in third place at this year’s competition. She wants to be in cheer and has interests in being a part of a choir. “During my free time, I like to play with my dogs,” said Anjolie happily. “My parents and my teachers are my role models.”
