Microblading Healing Process for Brows
This month, I will provide information on the microblading healing process for those potential clients who are considering having microblading done during the upcoming holidays.
Day one: Fresh, crisp and perfect
Your brows will seem to have a very sharp shape and dark pigment immediately after the procedure since the pigment is still sitting on top of your scar tissue. Your brow area may feel tender and slightly swollen. Your brows may look big or dramatic. Just breathe, give it time and trust the process.
Days two to five: Oxidized, dark and filled in appearance
Pigment reaches darkest level on day two, so your brows may appear way too dark and thick. But don’t freak out! They will lighten again.
Days five to nine: Peeling, flaking and shedding a top layer
The color will soften gradually. For some, it might look like the pigment disappeared revealing no visible color in skin. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab. Once the healing starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. Your brows may develop some undesirable scabbing. Do not pick!
Days nine to 10: Strokes surrounded by white, milky fresh skin, brows appear faded
Your brows will appear like they are completely gone. Don’t worry! And this is also why it’s important to have your touch up.
Days 11 to 30: New skin heals around the strokes and the color and shape comes back to the surface. Brows are back but patchy.
Pigment continues to oxidize, and the hair strokes begin to reappear with some strokes looking patchy. Your brows will appear incomplete during this part of the healing process. Most of these patches will fill in over time and the touch up will help fill them in.
