A Message from Mayor Laurene Weste
‘Tis the season for family, friends and a community brimming with holiday cheer. It’s hard not to get into the spirit of the season as you walk down Main Street in Old Town Newhall under a sea of sparkling lights. This area of Santa Clarita is just one of the many locations where you can purchase holiday gifts for that special someone and have fun at the same time.
If you are looking for that one of a kind gift – then make sure you start the month of December at our always popular Fine Craft Show at Old Orchard Park. This year’s show will take place on December 1 and 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The free, outdoor event features more than 60 artists’ booths with high-quality, original and made-in-USA crafts for any budget, just in time for the holiday season. You can spend the day browsing hand-crafted jewelry, paintings, pottery, woodwork, ceramics and so much more. Scrumptious food trucks and live music will be enjoyed by all who take part in this holiday shopping tradition.
Looking to spend some quality holiday time with your children or grandchildren? The City has several events this month that tie in festive treats with cherished activities. The Santa Clarita Public Library is hosting holiday story times, crafts and even opportunities to design your own holiday card. Visit www.SantaClaritaLibrary.com for more information.
Meanwhile, our Community Centers in Newhall and Canyon Country will be hosting holiday movies, Milk and Cookies with Santa and even holiday dances! For more information please visit www.santa-clarita.com/CCCC for Canyon Country and www.santa-clarita.com/NCC for the Newhall Community Center.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your friends and family members, a safe and wonderful holiday season full of peace, love and joy. Happy Holidays to all!
