 Have you ever heard the expression “jog for your life” or “bigger biceps may save your life someday”?
Of course, you haven’t because That would be ridiculous.  We focus on not just looking better but becoming better through practical training.  For example, on our cardio days I increase athleticism by throwing footballs to my clients which has them running and working on hand, eye and foot coordination. A more athletic “you” is less likely to trip and fall, make sense?
Often times we find ourselves in a gym just going they the motions without a real objective / purpose.  An easy fix is to create an objective / goal for your workout. This might look like “today I will focus on the movements that go into a pull up”, or “I will focus on foot speed with a jump rope or cones” and so on.
