Dessert First A Centennial Event for Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley – Zonta International Celebrates 100 Years of Service to Empower Women on November 8
Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) presents “Dessert First”, an event celebrating Zonta International’s (ZI’s) Centennial Anniversary on November 8, 2019 at Mercedes-Benz of Valencia. Enjoy music, a silent auction, and lots of desserts that pair with wine, beer and spirits as the Zonta Club celebrates 100 years of empowering women worldwide!
The color Orange displayed at the event signifies “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women”, a worldwide campaign to end violence against women and girls.
Dianne Curtis – Past International President and Foundation President – says, “I’m so proud to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration! Please join the Zonta Club of SCV and clubs around the world to honor Zonta International for 100 Years of helping improve the lives of women worldwide – a major milestone!”
ZI, a worldwide organization founded November 8, 1919 in Buffalo, New York, is a non-governmental organization with general consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and consultative status with the Council of Europe. Nearly 1,200 clubs support local and regional initiatives in 63 countries.

Programs such as Girls’ Robotics teaches girls eight to 14 science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills through building and operating Lego robots; LifeForward monthly workshops are designed to empower and provide self-sustainability to women; and Stemming the Tide of Human Trafficking partnerships mentor at-risk populations of girls.
