Turning Your Home Back into a House
Since you closed escrow you have been turning your house into a home. It’s the place where every corner is covered with special novelties and furnishings that represent you and your families style, needs and comfort. From those special trinkets to that oversized chair you love curling up in your home it all screams you. Now you’ve decided to sell your special space and you must begin the process of turning your home back into a house through staging. Here are some tips we have learned from our experience that have helped many homeowners get their homes sold faster:
Get rid of clutter
Although your things are very important to you but they are not as important to everyone else, you want your home to be open and inviting and you want your potential sellers to picture themselves and their things in these spaces, so clear all counter tops, minimize items on shelves and put away personal affects like
Aim for a light and bright look
When showing your home, bright and inviting is always better, so pull back the curtains, open the blinds and turn on all the lights. A fresh coat of paint in a neutral color is always a good idea!
Stage important rooms first
The important rooms of the house are the Living Rooms, Master Bedrooms, bathrooms and above all the kitchen. Making sure these areas are taken extra special care because these are the rooms that sell a house.
Remove and/or rent furniture
As we mentioned, your taste might not acceptable to everyone, so try and make the areas as generic as possible. There are several home staging companies that will allow you to rent certain items to add to the appeal of your home.
Arrange furniture
Furniture should not be the focus of a room. So, if your furniture stands out, is too large or too small for the area either re configure the room so that it gives a more open and inviting feel.
Work on your home’s curb appeal
I cannot stress this enough, the first thing someone sees when viewing your home is how it looks on the outside. Hiring a gardener and adding some flowers and greenery can not only get your home sold faster but also add to the over value of the home.
Our dedicate professionals at Bryant-Hafizi Real Estate understands that this can be a lot but with our help and expert advice we can minimize the stress so you can cherish the process rather than resent it.
