Salute to Our Mother’s Mother’s Day Contest Winner
From our family to yours, we wish all the mothers, grandmothers, aunts and sisters a Happy Mother’s Day. Some say being a mom is one of the hardest jobs you can have but it is also the most rewarding. From day one your mom is your biggest cheerleader, she can be your mentor, and wants nothing more than to see you happy and succeeding in life. Meet Raye …
My Mom, Raye was a single Mom of 4 kids. We grew up in a very poor area in San Bernardino surrounded by gangs, drugs and violence in a very hard life. My mom raised me to believe that I would go to college and told me to stay away from boys that they would always be there. She was always there for me at every turn in my life telling me how much she loved me and believed in me. She inspired me to be a strong independent woman and to stand up for myself. I have seen her walk to the bus early in the morning just to make it to work. She taught me to work hard and never give up!
I come from a long family line of Native American women who were strong because they had to! My great grandpa survived the Indian massacres and ended up getting sick at 30 and dying while leaving my great grandma with 5 kids. And when I’m faced with a challenge, I get scared but I think if my great grandma made it, so can I! I am proud to say that I was raised by incredible women who were and are warriors!
