Masks…to…Breakouts…..
Well, here we are, did you ever think this would be happening in your lifetime? Wearing masks that is ……. a simple mask is fine. In fact, the CDC recommends that you make a maskk from a t-shirt, no sweing involved or from a bandana. If you are more concerned about protection, or you a person with a predisposition, the more layers of mask the better. Imagine Swiss cheese and having to cover the holes. You may even wish to place a middle layer, with a coffee filter.
Some people have been having skin breakouts from wearing masks, this can be caused by a few things, from the chemicals in the making of the mask to an allergy. Everyone’s skin is different. The moisture in the mask, is the probable culprit. Start your day with a clean, toned, and moisturized face. Blot your face, when it feels damp, your clean T-shirt is fine, or better yet, a tissue. Don’t wear the mask when not necessary, like in the car, when you are alone and use a clean pillowcase when you sleep at night.
Use a clean mask everyday, I prefer washable masks, just wash them out every night and hang to dry. That way, you know what’s touching your skin. If you are still having breakouts, it could be your detergent.
Let’s face it, we’re in this together! Currently, we need to use a mask and don’t forget, it’s not Halloween, or Mardi Gras, this should be taken seriously, it’s real! Always wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when you enter a place and when you leave, and always social distance.
Oh, then there’s touching your face, you should never touch your face, or at least try not to because of the bacteria on your hands. Adjust your mask with clean hands.
Stay Safe. Blessings, Kathleen
