Old Town Newhall Farmers Market Celebrates 5-Year Anniversary
The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market will be celebrated their five-year anniversary this past May in the parking lot of the Old Town Newhall Library.
The Newhall Farmers Market is a certified farmers’ market selling farm direct produce and artisan food goods. “We normally would hold a big celebration with cake and fun entertainment,” said Market Manager Larry McClements. “Due to current health restrictions, these plans will have to wait for another time.”
The market instead celebrated by giving away pasture raised chickens and fresh and wild salmon to five customers chosen by random drawing. Free tickets to take part in the drawing were given out at the information booth.
The Newhall Farmers Market continues to grow. Over the past year additional vendors have been added including artisan bread, fresh seafood and pasture raised beef, pork, chicken and lamb. Additional farmers have also been added bringing additional organic options to the market as well as a local farmer from Val Verde.
The market continues to grow in an effort to bring the highest quality fresh produce and food options to Santa Clarita.
