Laughing with Di – September 2020
Drove over to my local Walmart, pulled into the parking lot and slid into the space provided for Pharmacy Pick-up. Placed the call, sat back to wait for my prescription delivery and proceeded to get bored. I turned in the direction of the main entrance and noticed a large, easel sign on the sidewalk in front of the doors. The sign was blue and in large white letters it read, “STOP, ENTRANCE CLOSED”.
Let’s have a laugh.
I sat and watched person after person walk up to the doors, realize they were not opening and look through the glass to peer inside. (You know how we raise our hand to our forehead and rest it on the window as if we can see better? What’s with that?). Anyway, some knocked, maybe saw people and shrugged at them as if to say, “What’s going on?” Everyone completely ignored the sign. If a person had been walking and looking down at their phone, (which is the norm nowadays), they could have banged right into the automatic doors that did not open as expected. One by one, they would turn around, see the crowded parking lot, look confused and then finally notice the blue tents at the farthest end of the building that indicated the new entrance. I was so amused by this pattern of behavior, I waited a few more minutes before I left and watched shoppers continue to do the same thing over and over. I went from boredom to a really funny moment.
To continue the moment and make you smile, here are more things to do when bored, by comedian Steven Wright.
