Courage, Strength and Ambition
As a board member of the Wish Education Foundation, CEO/Founder of 6 Degrees HR Consulting, guest correspondent for the Santa Clarita Valley Signal, a busy mother of three daughters and now once again a candidate for political office it’s surprising that Ms. Thomas still seeks more ways to be involved and help. “People are my passion. Serving the community in a way that is larger than myself is the least I can do with all of the opportunities that I have been afforded since moving here with three young daughters in 2011.
The opportunities I gained as a home and business owner did not come easy. I know the grind daily as a single mother so I take nothing for granted.” “Deciding to run for city council again was not easy, but I felt a great responsibility to continue the momentum I gained when I ran in 2020. So many people became engaged and aware because of my campaign. Many people could relate to the issues facing our community because of my campaign. With representation being so important it is so imperative now more than ever that someone step forward and be a voice for many not just a few. “I am a business owner, homeowner, single mother-of student athletes, minority-biracial woman that is self-made in a community that is fertile ground for a person to become anything they focus on and pursue daily. The reward for me is the results I see in my kids who are positioned very well because of the schools and organized sports they were involved in. I am especially proud of my work as a business owner during the height of the Covid crisis.
I can directly say that I have saved thousands of jobs in this community by helping small business owners recover. Now it’s time to go to the next level and bring big businesses here to create more sustainable jobs that allow people to work and live in this community.” “We have so much to look forward to even with what has happened and I’m excited to be a part of that. Some people have called me courageous because politics is not for the faint of heart. I see it differently, what I have learned and been through in 11+ years here only gave me strength to see that what I have accomplished in Santa Clarita with my girls is just beginning. I feel blessed to serve in anyway I can.”
