Laughing with Di – October 2021
Happy Halloween! Keep your little ones in those fun costumes and let them eat a lot of candy. It’s only once a year. I predict that the most popular costume for young girls will be Cruella Deville and the boys will choose Aquaman. Unfortunately, none of the boys will come close to looking like Jason Momoa (grin).
In early September, I received a lovely gift from my Hallmark store for being such a good paying customer (emphasis on “paying”). It is a lovely orange, glass pumpkin candy holder. This was my wake-up call that fall was around the corner along with all the holidays to follow. And, here we are in October ready to begin the fourth quarter of 2021. To clear my mind and take a quiet moment to think before jumping into the whirlwind to come, I wrote down a few random thoughts that will, hopefully, keep you smiling.
H ave you ever wanted to hug your grandchildren until they squeak?
A pples are such a satisfying fruit – a cold, crisp, sweet, healthy chew
L eaves change color and fall around us as is their ritual since the beginning of time
L et’s stop and think about how we can keep our little corners of the world clean
O boes and ocarinas; instruments that kind of sound octoberish to me
Witches are people too!
E xclamation points are cool symbols – simple, emphatic, plumpy if you like, voila!
E lements are what’s out there on Earth; some of my favorites after looking in the dictionary since I have limited knowledge of the elements: californium(Cf); einsteinium(Es); molybdenum(Mo). Say that three times.
N o scary or creatively dressed children may come to your door trick or treating, but by all means buy those Reese’s peanut butter cups anyway! I’ll take some for my pumpkin candy holder.
