Selina Thomas Destine for Big Things….

For Selina Thomas downtime is idle time since her announcement on Juneteenth for her second candidacy for Santa Clarita Council she has committed to all of the action items to help more community members get to know her.
“As a Guest Correspondent for the Signal and host of Selina Thomas SCV’s HR Guru, I’m bringing forward stories of the community, businesses and real people that impact our community in a positive way all to help Santa Clarita move forward.”
Last month she participated in promoting and covering the world premiere of Scrum, a documentary film at Laemmle Theatre with long time SCV resident Jeffrey Thompson, the movie’s executive producer.
“Jeffrey and the Director Thomas Morgan were huge allies in bringing this critically acclaimed documentary film to Santa Clarita to accelerate our community’s economic recovery. The filmmakers could’ve taken it straight to Hollywood, but instead opted to do have the world wide movie premiere at Laemmle. These are the stories I love to share and highlight on my podcast with the SCV Signal because it places our great town on a very large platform for the rest of the country to see what a small community like Santa Clarita can do to bring big business and people together in a positive way. There was no better way to promote the awareness of our community’s diversity and recovery than with a premiere like this, it was a huge success.”
As Selina continues her quest for excellence and a city council seat in November 2022, she was proud to see her daughter Miya, a senior at Saugus High School be awarded a full academic/athletic scholarship at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ.
“So many wonderful things are colliding at the same time for me. Watching my daughters hard work pay off and to remember that she started softball right here in Santa Carita at Hart as an eight-year-old was amazing. To have her be one of the highest awarded student athletes out of Saugus was a very proud moment for all of us. Her coaches, teachers and many parents from this community can take credit for what was developed right here in Santa Clarita. I am not only a proud parent, I’m proud to say I raised her here along with two other amazing girls. I positioned my daughters here in Santa Clarita and the sky is the limit for them all now.”
“Without a doubt heading into 2022, I think people are starting to recognize my hard work, my integrity and my commitment to this community long-term. What I bring forward as a candidate and a community leader everyday is authentic and sincere.”
